Thornton (Leic) Methodist Chapel
« on: Monday 12 November 07 19:50 GMT (UK) »
I am researching a William Bembridge born in Hulland 1830 and married a Jemima Tilson in Thornton Leic in 1854, he died in 1915 again in Thornton, during his life he was the Methodist minister for the village. Does any one have any history of the chapel  or even photographs you are willing to share.

I see you are researching one of my family connections.  Jemima Tilson was my gtgtgtgrandmother's sister. My ancestor was Ann Tilson who married William Mason of Thornton.  Just thought I would say hello.

Hello karen
We have made contact before, some years ago and have swapped family details. Good to know you are also still researching.

Hello! I came across your message quite by chance, just as I was scanning in the photo of Thornton Main Street, showing the Chapel. I was looking on the net for the date of its demolition and the search engine lead me to you! I don't know how deep your interest in the Bembridges is, but I have one or two photo's of family members from the late 1900's in our village history memorabilia. Please contact me if you want to have them. Kind regards, Muriel

I'm afraid I can't help you as I don't live in Thornton.
