Hi spacot,
I posted this already on Scotland General board but just noticed your offer.
If it is still open and you have time, would you please check these for me....

Alexander Borthwick                           (both born)
Dudgeon Borthwick (nee Pearson)     (circa 1770)
Peter Borthwick (died 1871 Dalkeith)
anyone with forename Dudgeon
Jean Borthwick or Robertson born 1793
Janet Borthwick or Jaffrey born 1802 (death probably Berwick)
Margaret Borthwick born 1804 (unsure whether married)

Alternative spelling for Borthwick is Bortwick

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I have records of Robertsons in every record, If you can find a name for her father I will check it out.

Tranent and Ormiston are fairly close to Dalkeith,  so my be connected. Not many records of your names in the area, often means all are connected at some point, my family group stretch from
Eyemouth to Edinburgh.

Cheers Lynn.
I'll work through these.
I'll have another look at the Robertsons.

I've got a pile of info over the last couple of days on Borthwicks and possible relations so it'll take me a while to get my head round it all.

Thanks for what you've added.
