My Mum used to live on Shakespear Street, I think in the 1940s.

I don't have any photos but if you would like me to ask my Mum if she recalls anything just let me know.

Hi Liverpool Annie, only just seen your topic re Shakespeare Street Ardwick C-0n-M Manchester so hoping the topic is still active. I spent my childhood during the 1950's living at 15 Shakespeare Street. We owned a large 3 floored end terrace house within a block of 3. Most of the properties were lodging houses. I'm enclosing a link to a Facebook site that will be of help to you if you still have queries. There's lots of members and lots  of pic of Ardwick on the site and everyone is really helpful. Shakespeare Street and most of the area was demolished in the 1960 but some of it does remain e.g The Plymouth Grove Hotel.    I believe my friends grandmother lived at 13 Shakespear Street in the 1957 she was called Adrienne Cook I believed she worked in a shop as listed on her daughter birh certificate looking for a connection to a Goodman or Hyman family  any info would be great
