Hi Annie

Have you checked to see if Samuel came to Australia via Victoria - there was much travel between the two states. I looked at the unassisted & there is a possible but only listed as Mr - arrived 1855 aged 20
UPTON   ---- MR   20   DEC   1855   SCHOMBERG   B   103   003

The fiche MAY say where he was from - but often do not for unassisted passengers

Trish

Hi and Happy New Year everyone :D Thank you all so much for the effort you have put into helping me. Yes Samuel is a bit  evasive but he can't hide forever someone out there knows him and I just have to find the needle for my haystack  ;) I found out today that the photograph my husband rescued from destruction is Catherine Wishart so little by little it's coming. One of my husbands nieces lives in Canberra  and has offered to look them up at the National Archives there so maybe something will come of that  ;D Once again thank you so much your help is appreciated.

Hi, this is a very old thread, but I'm a direct descendant of Samuel Upton from Campbell Town.
Our family still lives there after almost  170 years. Please get in touch.
