Hi Ringrose

Sorry I can't help you with Robert, but Jane LANSDELL was my 2nd cousin 7x removed and you can see details of her ancestry on my website starting here - http://www.historyscape.org.uk/ancestors/2161.html.

I'd be interested to find out more about her descendants.

Best wishes,

Ruth

Hello Ruth
Just back from holiday -hence delay in replying.Jane Lansdellis my 4 times great grandmother. She married Robert Leighton in Oct 1801 in Goudhurst. They had a daughter Ann b 1803 in Hawkhurst.Ann married John Nightingale b 1800 in Sandhurst. The marriage took place inSouthwark Surrey in Oct 1842. Why there I do not know.It was Johns 2nd marriage. They had 2 daughters Jane b1843 (my ggrandmother)and Ann Elizabeth b 1845 both in Speldhurst.John was a farmer and by the 1850s had land at Giffords Toll near Dallington, Sussex.Jane married a Miller called Charles Frederick Clark in Dallington inOct 1867. She had 4 children Annie,Frederick,Evaand Emma.Jane died in 1874 age 30.Emma my grandmother married a William Joseph Mann in Wimbledon in 1898.There were 3 children of this marriage one of them being my father.
I have found your site most interesting . A lot of hard work must have gone into it.
All for now
