Australia from Germany: the Rub family
« on: Wednesday 09 January 08 03:45 GMT (UK) »
I am very new at this and who reads instructions on how to use the site. Wondering if anyone out there has any info on the Rub/Rubb family who settled in Drayton, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Thomas Rub was born in Drayton in 1862 but his father Joseph was born in Germany in or about 1827.
My Grandfather was Steven Rubb. Some family members spelt the surname as Rub. Joseph married a Christianna Brennenstahl, also born in Germany. Joseph was a carpenter as were some of his sons. All of their children were born in the Toowoomba area.

Sue

A member of this family is a very good friend of mine.  He is a man in his seventies, and knows a lot about his family, both since they came to Australia and also in Germany.  He could tell you a lot!

If you pm me with your name and contact details, I will either get him to contact you, or get his permission for you to contact him.

If you click on MarieC's name, over there at the left top corner, it will bring up her profile. Then click on the "send a personal message" line under the profile.
And away you go  ;D
