Connolly, William and Thomas

I am looking for a Thomas Connolly born in about 1844 in Armagh.  He was in Liverpool/Birkenhead by 1865 when he married Alice Stredder.  I think he was probably a Protestant.  On the marriage certificate, his father's name is William Connolly whose occupation is given as gardener.  A Sarah Connolly was a witness to the marriage.  She was probably Thomas's sister but I haven't been able to pick up anything further on her.

Thomas & Alice were my 2xgts-grandparents. They had at least 9 children in Birkenhead/Liverpool/Hulme. The oldest was William Jame (b1865), my great-grandfather. His eldest son Thomas (1891-1967) was my grandfather and his eldest son also Thomas (1921-1983) was my father.

I can find no more info re Sarah but Thomas did have a brother called James who was aged 24 when he married Elizabeth Meek at Bebington in 1861. I know no more about them.

There is some circumstantial evidence that the Stredders came originally from Lincolnshire but I've been able to prove this. I think Margaret Sparks probably came from STORETON  which is near Bebington.

Well, I can certainly add to your information.  As you probably know Thomas and Alice's eldest daughter, after James, was Alice Maude.

She married Thomas Steele, and they had 4 children including my grandmother May Steele.  She married Frank Bradbury in Salford, they moved to Gorton and had 4 children.  Their youngest was Norman Bradbury, who was my father.

I will put the other children in a message with dates!
