Cathcart, Cathcart Old Parish and Linn
« on: Friday 18 January 08 10:47 GMT (UK) »
I'll visit them all.
Some of you know that I've been to Cathcart Old Parish a couple of times.
I'll go again anytime you want me to look.

However, thanks to Rita, I've realised the error of my ways!
There is another Cathcart cemetery. Despite the fact that I have lived here for close to 40 years, I missed it.  How dumb do I feel?  :-[

Gimme those names again ....... I'll have a proper look.

Dorman - for Linda
Edgar - for Robeena
Bollocks to Anne - oops - sorry Anne - ( Pollocks - for Anne)   ;D ;D ;D
Millers - Anne was that you too? - we got them, didn't we?
I've got Bryson written down - who wanted that?
Gray - for Rita

Oh, aye - Forrest - that's mine!

Sighthill still awaits me - that's another visit, another day.

Dave

I visited Cathcart cemetery today.
A huge cemetery.  I only managed to go round section 2F (top right of image below).

I'll add details shortly.

I'll certainly need to revisit more than a few times.

Fintrygirl (Rita) asked me to have a look for her Gray relations.  She was able to give the the section number (2F) and plot number.  That is the reason I went to this area first.  While looking I kept my eyes open for the other names in the list.
Don't be disheartened if you don't get a mention today - I'll definitely be going back.  This particular section of the cemetery seems to be graves all from around the 1930s or thereabouts.  There are much older parts to the cemetery and it is also still in use.

Rita, despite walking around the entire section twice, I could not find the specific Gray lair.  A number of stones have fallen and are face down - I'm hoping it is not one of them.

I did find 1 Gray stone but whether it relates to your family, I don't know.  Photo attached

Anne - found a couple of Pollocks.
I've got higher resolution photos if you can't read these.
