Chat up Registrar  ;) and ask if the parents are Alec and Annie before requesting any Certificates.
They might also hold death certificates, and as the name is a bit unusual it would not be too much of a task to check the Indexes.

Registars are nice people and willing to help. ;D

My cousin is married to a Registrar and she is ever so nice.

I also had to deal with many Registrars when doing a big project a while ago and found them really helpful  :)
