Bamber search

Can anyone please help me. I am trying to trace my paternal great grandother Mary Bamber(married name) born Kendal 1805. Married William Bamber date unknown.  I have been unable to trace her or the family on early census records  for that area.  They must have moved to the liverpool area before 1846 as their daughter Mary Ann  was born in 1846 and has a birthplace of liverpool on the census records after that date.  Mary Ann married Peter Johnson in 1868 in Liverpool at St Nicholas church. They also settled in Liverpool. Mary Bamber was at least 38 when she had this daughter so it was posible that they may have had more chilren who might appear on earlier rcords.
