Thanks for that conversation on Darwell Mill.  My ancestors (Relf), acording to the 1841 census and later ones, were in the cottage refered to as Darwell Mill and Mill Pond cottages.  I worked out that they were next down the lane from Hollingrove Farm toward Twelve Oaks.  In 1851 they were still there - brothers William Relf and Thomas Relf with their respective families lived in the 2nd and 3rd cottage.  They are listed as AgLab's and Thomas Nokes in cottage 4 is listed as the Miller.  The next residences is not a Darwell Mill Pond Cottage.   I just wonder if the Long Houses on that lane are the 4 Mill Cottages.  William Relf and his wife and grandson still lived there in 1871 and 4 times great grannie Ann lived alone in one at age at 73.  I see that William Clark, the miller, lived next door to her then.
