« on: Monday 21 January 08 15:40 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on a family surname Boyle.  An Edward Boyle was born around 1820 Templecarn, Fermanagh.   This information obtained from marriage certificate 1852 and birth certificate of first child in 1855 in Dunblane, Scotland, where his age is given as 35 yrs.

Welcome to Rootschat.
If you know the family's religion and have a place (need townland or at least parish not just county) then check LDS catalogue (www.familysearch.org) to see if the church records have been microfilmed and cover the dates you want. Civil registration of births, death & Catholic marriages didn't start until 1864 (Protestant marriages from 1845) so you will nee to search for church records (if they still exist).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi,
I am currently researching for a friend and have discovered her great great grandfather is the Edward Boyle you mention. She descends from daughter Catherine born 1855. I would love to know what your connection is and share information.

Margaret

Hello Margaret

Edward Boyle is also my great, great grandfather and his daughter Catherine is my great grandmother. So it looks likely that your friend and I are actually quite closely related.  I have sent you an offline message and perhaps we can exchange information.

Kind regards, Ken
