1 John Kelly [Jack] Layng. Born on 13 Dec 1865 in Ballina, Co Mayo. John Kelly [Jack] died in Haddington Terrace, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Ireland, on 12 May 1932; he was 66. Buried in Dean's Grange Cemetery, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Religion: methodist.

2 William Frederick Layng. Born in 1842 in Castlebar?, Co. Mayo. William Frederick died in Dublin, Ireland, on 12 Sep 1923; he was 81. Buried in Dean's Grange Cemetery, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Religion: presby.

9 Elizabeth. Born in c1780 in Co Sligo? or Mayo? Buried in Ardnaree, Ballina.

10 William Randolph Ruxton R.E. Born in 1787 in Dublin?? William Randolph died in Dublin, Ireland, on 14 Feb 1855; he was 68. Buried in St. James Church, Dublin. Religion: Church of Ireland.

Hello David,

You'll have to rely on Church records for a number of the searches as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

I see Alison Wilson died at Holyrood and wonder if that's a house or a street name.

There's a Holyrood Park at Ball's Bridge.

The Holyrood in question is in Ballsbridge, Dublin, as he suggested.

The John Layng b 1740 I now believe was born in 'Leney', a barony in Sligo
