Hello Migky,

Thanks for those photos. Those little heart shaped head stones are unusual.

Letterfrack-I feel I hate to write it's dispicable name,I read this thread a few days ago & it has emotionally cut me into two half's- one half is weaken to tears at the though of abuse, suffering & living nightmare these children went through, the other half is strongly inflamed with anger that it was aloud to happen.I would like to thank Kerrill for starting this thread & Migky for the photo's & inter net links-that has made us aware of this horror. The children are gone but definitely not forgotten - back then there was no one to save them - today it's not going to be pushed to one side & hidden, they deserve for the world to know what suffering & injustice they endured.Out of the darkness their souls shine brightly into our hearts.....................................nipy

Hi NIPY,

People who erect memorials for children who were stillborn or unchristened in the old days
also have their problems. Some land owners will not allow a memorial on their property ...
if they do allow it generally people aren't allowed on to the property to see the memorial
so many of these can be seen by the side of the road close to where the children were buried.

Hi Christopher,I know how the church treated the unchristened child that died in the olden days & how sad that was for their parents, but what I was really referring too is the type of crime against the children of St Josephs, like the report in the Galway Advertiser 27/11/2003-Sorry Christopher but I not very good at getting things across at times.Regards Nipy
