The Benburb Castle - Wingfield Bawn website refers to Sir Richard Wingfield who was made Marshal of Ireland in 1600 and fought at the Battle of Kinsale in 1601

The National Library of Ireland and the Public Record Office in Belfast both hold collections of documents relating to the Wingfield family: Viscounts Powerscourt of Powerscourt.
