Hello there.

I just received an alert that contained the RAF Hospital Ely.  I run a website for this hospital for all ex-members of staff.   Unfortunately we don't have anybody going back that far.   The nearest we have is 1950, although I was in dialogue with a son of a 92 year old sister from Ward 6 in 1944/55 now living in Australia.

If you want me to pass your message onto the site I can do.   You never know, somebody might just have an answer for you.

Take care of yourself

Roger

A pity my late father is still not around.  He was a patient at Ely Hospital about that time.  He was an armourer in Bomber Command and was being  treated for the effects of mustard gas stored in a nearby Bomber Command bomb dump, a subject that isn't mentioned very often!

Hello there.

There are lots of things not mentioned much today, like when Bomber Command dropped a gas bomb on Norwich in the 1950's to see how it would affect the local population!!

Too many things done secretly and using us as guinea pigs without our knowledge.

This seems highly unlikely to me, can you come up with anything further?

There is a fantastic thread named" RAF lookups if you need help' or words like that.    It has hundreds of answers to questions such as are being asked here.  The thread is on Armed Services Board, from memory ::)

Why not locate the thread- I can't see it on my back posts-sorry-, and ask about all this?
Certainly worth a try.
