Mary WEIR PATE b. 1758c Lesmahagow
« on: Wednesday 13 February 08 07:16 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am trying to find the family of Mary WEIR PATE/PAIT/PEET/PEAT - my 5xGreat-Grandmother.

Mary was born at Lesmahagow in the parish of Lanark, Scotland about 1758.

Her early life is still a mystery, she had a sister named Janet, her brothers were the Reverend James and Colonel John Peat of Inner Leitham, Scotland.

Any assistance/information will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Hiya I realise this is a late reply however my grandad was born in the same place in 1920's - his name is John Pate and I think he may have some information on his family tree  :)

Hi Christine

My wife and I will be conducting an investigation into John Larkham and Mary Weir during the 3 week period prior to Xmas - my wife has requested 9 birth/death certificates as we want documented proof of this family.

John Larkham was born in 1759 in Bristol England.  He was married Mary Weir nee Peat on 31 January 1799 in St Phillip’s church. Bought land at the Field of Mars and Kissing Point.  Mary leased these properties out when he died.
Mary Weir died 11 March 1841 Sydney buried Sandhills, Devonshire St Cemetery, reinterred Botany Cemetery.

I'll let you know what we find after Xmas

Cheers

Mick
