Photo needed - Springfield Road, Blackpool
« on: Sunday 17 February 08 20:29 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I'm desperately after a photo of Springfield Road in Blackpool, specifically the row of houses/shops with the nightclub on -  a view from the Grand Metropole, looking towards the building would be amazing

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction - it would be most appreciated.  :)

Thanks,

Fingers crossed, Lee

Hi, have you tried looking on both these sites? As i am not from that area and would only know the sea front as a visitor. Good luck

I'll be going up to visit the family at Easter; if no-one has done it before then, I will!

This is 26 Springfield Road, Blackpool (towards the Dickson Road end, rather than the promenade end you were asking about).

A great great-aunt ran it in the 20s/30s (which is the only reason I have a photo of it!) - see this thread

Yes, it's amazing the difference Google StreetView has made - it's now so easy to look at an ancestor's house and wander round the surrounding streets, that's it's become almost a compulsion for me every time I come across a new address.

Of course, the original post in this thread was made before there was StreetView coverage of the area - StreetView was only launched in the USA in 2007.
