it would be great if there was a link, My Maryann Shields parents were William Shields and Ann Foster born  both born in Ireland.
Please let me know if you find anything.

Hi

I'm a descendant of Brabson Shields. My understanding is his father was James or William Shields who was a seaman, labourer and woollen weaver at various times. If you look in the 1891 census he is listed on board a ship docked in Wales. He is also in the 1911 census in Ayr. He died 1912. He appears in valuation rolls  1885 & 1905.

Brabson's mother was Ann Foster who died 1895. Her parents were James Foster and Rose Brannie.

Brabson married Sarah McCutchan and had Lizzie, William, Thomas, Sarah Jane and Annie.  I am descended from Lizzie.

P.S. Is anyone able to trace the family further back than this? And are we related to anyone who migrated to Canada or America?
