Hi folks, i came across this site purely by accident. I dont know if I can help in anyway. My grandfather was born in the 1920s in Bunown. He was John Conlon married to May Cantwell (from Rahan). My Uncle still lives in Bunown and would probably be a good source of info if I can get hold of him. I would need to ask my Father or Uncle about further back from that.  :)

Kevin, does this Uncle John have a brother named Joe who married a Lily Ganly? They had at least 5 kids named Patrick, Liam, Colm, Veronica, and Josie. Thanks Bob

There is a (*) if you want to write.

I'll take it that you are sorted out now!

I am clueless to the Tang Connection except that I have family buried there. It is very important to me. Bob

I havent really looked into my family's past but when I see my Uncle (Carthage) I will ask him. He should be over in January as me Dad is ill at the moment. If I get an info relevant to you I will post it here.

Thanks Kevin, I hope you dad gets better. Ask him if he ever heard of an Emmett the Yank Conlon.  That is my dad and he lived in Glassan in the 1950's. I hope that Joe is a relative. Bob

Would anyone here who is in or has contacts in the Glassan area, please get in touch with me.   E-mail (*) .    I know there's a private message system, but I rarely manage to find my messages!

Every time I say what I want to know in the Glassan area, the listowner moves my post to someplace else where none of you will ever see it.

Thanks!

Yours,
Dora Smith

hello dora,
i am tracing my family tree also and have discovered that a lot of my ancesters came from westmeath.
i just found a cousin on here the other day,
names adamsons from moate, nolans from glasson and my ggrandfather married a catherine berry.
oh by the way there is glassan and glasson in westmeath, it can get confusing at times.
we might be able to help each other out, i live about 30 miles from that area and was there about 6 months ago.
best wishes for now,
cyril walsh.
