How about this family group? Sarah's place of birth isn't Monmouthshire, but the family is in Monmouthshire and the parents are spot on

Mary Evans head widow 58 proprietor of houses b. Breconshire, Rhymney
Evan Evans son 22 haulier b. Mon, Tredegar
Sarah Bennett grand dau 5 b. Tredegar
John Price son-in-law 31 butcher b. Breconshire, Llanthety
Margaret Price wife 24 b. Tredegar
Sarah dau 2 b. Glam, Dowlais
Mary Jane dau 4 months b. Tredegar
William son 3 b. Tredegar

relationships are a bit awry as they should be given reflecting Mary as head, so Margaret should be daughter, not wife.

Best match I can see for a marriage is
John Price dec quarter 1845 Crickhowell vol 26 pg 499 with Margaret Evans on the same page
but perhaps a little odd as Crickhowell doesn't cover either of their home parishes.

Sorry, can't manage 8 generations of Prices in Wales.

Hi
Have been out of genealogy for about 5 years but am now back in the saddle. I still can't find when my Sarah arrived in Australia. She was born in 1849 in Wales and married in 1876 in Australia but the Australian Shipping records don't have her registered. Possibly, if she came unassisted before 1852, she would have not been recorded. Where would a single Welsh child most likely leave Monmouthshire for Australia, and where would the records for such an event be held? Any help appreciated.

Any records would be a the Australian end. Outgoing lists didn't start until 1890.

Would it be worthwhile paying someone to chase it up from the British end? There is nothing definite from the Ozzie end.

what are you trying to find? Paying doesn't help, the records are the same for everyone.

There are no records at this end for people who emigrated. Have you tried asking on the Australian board to see what someone there can find?
