1841 & 1871 Census - TENNANT - Luton
« on: Tuesday 04 March 08 17:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I would appreciate a lookup of the following people

1841
Thomas Tennant b. abt 1820-23 in Luton
Frances (Bradden) b. abt 1820 in Luton
I'm not sure whether they were already married or not.

1871
Eliza Ann Tennant (should be abt 27) b. Luton

Thanks for your time!

The 1841 has a 17 year old Thomas Tennant in the "House of Correction" in Altrincham/Knutsford Cheshire but he is shown as not born in Cheshire

Can't find Frances in 1841 in Beds but there is a Frances Braden aged 18 mother Frances but she is shown as b M'sex and is living there

Thank you both!!

Finding her under Frances Brading was lovely, I'll have to order the certificate for more info. I'm not sure how pleased I am about the Thomas that you found though  ;), I'll have to see what I can find out about this black sheep!

The info on Eliza is brilliant and seems quite likely that it's her as her brother had already moved to that area and she ended up marrying someone from that area though they were married in Luton. What an interesting family to be living with.

Thanks again for all your searching, it's wonderful that you take the time to do this!! :)

Aaah Jan, you wrecked my having a black sheep in the family  ;)!!

Well I was hoping to find him with parents as that would have been an easy way to find out who they were but I guess that things aren't always that simple :).
Thank you for finding this info, it is much appreciated. Thanks for letting me know what things mean as I otherwise wouldn't have had a clue.

Have a wonderful day!
