You'd think there would be more births between those that we have found. But they are well hidden if that is the case......  :-\

There is a posible arrival  for  them  in 1852  on  the  HYDERABAD into Victoria.

If  that  is  them then  you  would  think  there were more births  but in  that early time frame  some  didn't register  the  births.

I  note  with  interest  that  the Farmers  were  well off,   the electorall roll  has  him down as independent means.

well daughter Harriet and husband JJ Wotton came through NSW and ended up in QLD. I wonder if that is a possibility? Although I always assumed the previous gen had stayed down south.

Hi,
Thought I would check Oakleigh Cemetery for the FARMERS , Charles and Mary Ann.  they do not appear on the registry, but it has lead to a nice little story about them.

Other sources on the Monash [Oakleigh] search offered a couple of book entries for Cr. J. C. FARMERS of the region.  He, or a relation of his, was also City Mayor in 1915 -1919.

I wondered also whether the couple Mary Ann & Charles FARMERS had enlisted sons and on searching came upon FREDERICK.

He enlisted in 1916 aged 18 and gives his 'birthplace' as the Boy's Home  in Melbourne' and his Next of Kin as his ADOPTIVE father CHARLES JAMES FARMERS.
Because he is so young, his parents must both sign consent and she signs too MARY ANN FARMERS.
Although the name is given on the Attestation forms as Charles James, the signature is J C FARMERS [changed order]..
Frederick  got a bit 'crook' in the war,but came through.

Hope you find this interesting.

Hi Jenn,
Wondering if there was a son called Albert too.

A man names Charles Frederick FARMERS was born at Nhill  in 1920 [ww2] and was living at nearby Tarranginnie when he enlisted,  but enlisted in Western Australia.   His NOK was Albert FARMERS. [a son of Charles too?]

Gosh thanks so much!!! I have had many PC issues between now and then and had forgotten to check this thread.

Many thanks for the leads~I think the death of James (as in OP) has been id'd as 1898 NSW and and hoping Marion is Mary Ann d 1914 NSW.

Thanks again! I'd be interested in hearing of any other lines at any time.  ;D
