Any idea of date marriage might have taken place? Also their religion?
Civil registration of Catholic marriages began 1864 and non-Catholic ones from 1845 so date is important. If before the above dates you have to search for church records (if they still exist). To do so you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (parish if not actual townland not just the county).

Hi aghadowey
sorry about the delay getting back to you, I take it they were both catholic's as my grandfather was
He was born 1890 being the oldest so i was told they came from clonmany living around the isle of doagh having a farm their.
i think two brothers went to America one being killed riding the train's  so the story goes in 1930's they had sisters but i don't know the names
I have checked IFHF record's their is a marriage under both names 1888

Mary McGoldrick (born Donegal Town around 1860's) married a Harkin. She lived at 4 Abercorn Road in Londonderry in 1921, when my great grandfather entered the US via Ellis Island.

Would anyone be able to lookup a marriage between Mary McGoldrick and Mr. Harkin? Thanks!

Hi Mary!

Mary McGoldrick Harkin's father was Francis McGoldrick, Senior, (1828-1896) who was a Publican on Main Street in Donegal Town. I am not sure of her mother's name.

Her siblings were Francis, Junior b 1860 or so (My great grandfather). John C. b. abt 1865, Catherine (Cassie), b. abt 1868, Margaret (Maggie), b abt 1872, James, b abt 1875,  Joseph, b abt 1880, and Sarah or Sally and Patrick.

Francis, Jr. listed Mary, his sister as his nearest relative in Ireland when he entered Ellis Island in 1921. Interesting side note...Her house is on the market, pictures and all.
