Hi and Thank you again Noel!

I hope you're finding some of yours too!  Having spent years looking out fotr them brilliant to see something about real Hoey's in Ireland!

I've been looking at evcidence I've already got and odd Donaghue's etc but keep going round in circles!

Did any of your Gormans work in the police? a gggrandmother appears as the widow of a police officer, living next door to a Gorman who I think was in the police and was from Ireland, v late 19C, Lancashire.

I am away to scour these fantastic photo's!

Best wishes

Hi
I have Mary Ann Boylan, siblings and her parents and Grandparents etc in my Family Tree. It is great to know about the Hoey connection. Do you know anything about her other siblings Bridget, Rose, and Christy and their connections?

The original poster is no longer a member of Rootschat but perhaps someone else will be able to help with details of your Hoeys.

Hi
Thank you for your help.
My connection with the Boylan family is with my  Great Grandmother Mary Boylan Circa 1838 who married Philip Owens and had 12 children including my Grandmother Agnes Owens. Mary's parent were Patrick Boylan and Mary Magork. Patrick and Mary had 5 children including a son Christopher circa 1845 who married Ann Lacey and had 3 children James, Thomas and Peter. I have been unable to find out any information on Thomas and Peter. However there was a Peter Boylan married in Ardee in 1896.
Although I have all births and sponsors from 1823-1847, there are 22 families of Boylans all inter entwined with the sponsors so it is difficult to make sense of who are who's brothers. Have you had any luck in that direction?
Many Thanks.
Joan Earls

Hi Joan. This is all good infomation. I will have to go back and look at what I have, I am sure I will have information to give you. James Boylan who married Mary Duffy was my Great Grandfather. On his Marriage cert his father was Thomas Boylan, Sailor. I could never find out who this Thomas Boylan was, Could not find a birth cert for James so dont know who his mother was. The Ownes name has come up in my resarch.
Many Thanks.
