Check cd when backing up

Thinking I had everything covered because I had backed up my findings on cd I didn't panic when my pc went a bit wonky and I lost all my data. However, when I went to add it all again from the cd I discovered the flipping thing was faulty. I still had about 2/3 of my gedcom online, but I lost all my images, online docs etc. So, my tip is, when you back up, don't forget to check the cd actually works. it has taken me months to get back to where I was which is very frustrating :-(
