Wembley House
« on: Thursday 27 March 08 14:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi

On the back of these photos is written May 11th 1936, in the garden of Wembley House.

I think my grandmother was in service here from Co Durham but have no details.

I'd like to try & track the family or even where the house is.  There's quite a few other photos of this couple & their family.

Cheers

Jay

I would have thought that the annotation meant no more than "our house in Wembley"  Unfortunately the semi-detached house pictured is typical of the thousands built in that area of suburbia in the 1930s and there is very little chance of it being identified.

Unfortunately that's what I thought.  But you never know someone might recognize them.

Just started on Rootschat.
The house in the photo could be one of 1000s. Wembley was covered by 1930s housing. This is a typical semi or end terrace house. I wonder if the title should be 'A house in Wembley'.

So ten years after posting this I have identified 'Wembley House' as being 38 Wembley Park Drive.
