I am descended from Richard stephens son of Thomas. The shop was in 39 church st. I have a n old photo of it as Harts store. I think its a late Victorian re build as old photos show a tudor type building. However the museum has a good picture of kington with stephens store about 100 feet further down street. Stephens continued up until 1970s as grocers in nearby Ludlow where I met Stanton stephens descendant of Thomas a few years ago. Stephens was a great family of Radnorshire & were  mostly solicitors. I think they were grocers first & filled time in back room making umbrellas. This generation still sell books.. Bernard.. my gran was ada stephens
