1891 census & Army discharge travel details
« on: Sunday 06 April 08 13:30 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

I have a few queries regarding this person (Charles William Cotterill) from Leicester.

He was discharged from the army (Leicestershire Regmt) in Bermuda on 19th Feb 1891, having served nearly 4 years.  I have his army record documents from the National Archive.

However, I cannot locate him in the 1891 census?

My questions are:

Would he have been back in England by census day, I think it was 5th April that year?

Is there any way of finding out how he got home, what ship and where he would have docked and on what date?

Where could I look for these records and details, if they are available at all for this year.

Many thanks
