Hi Louisa Maud

The only entry that I can see in 1841 that looks remotely like them has been indexed as Joseph Crewdson, though for me the ending could be anything.

It's Joseph Cree???? a farm labourer, at High Barrow/Brow Farm, Hincaster, aged 20,

c/o Joseph Rooke? /Rocks or similar (65)
   Joiseph  ,,                                     30/38?
Jane     ,,                                        40  and family with other workers including Mary Talbot aged 20.

HO 1159 13.

Not that far from Kendal, near Milnthorpe.

Good luck.

Thanks Emms
I will have a look at Ancestry, I expect it will be him, the age is near enough for the 1841,   if only I could find a marrige between them

Happy hunting

HI Again Louisa Maud

I saw this marriage earlier and discounted it.  Now I've looked at the 1851 and realised that Jane/Jessy was born in Liverpool, it's a real possibility.

On Free bmd there' s a marriage in theJune quarter 1848 for a Joseph Crewdson to a group which includes Jane Morris. (the only Jane/ Janet/ Jessy)

In fact, in Liverpool, because of the shipping, there would be people from all ove.  Living near the border with Scotland, I associate Jessy for Janet or Jane with Scottland - maybe Ireland too?  Not sure, but certainly some areas of either could make Crewdson and creasy sound very similar.

I think it's worth a go when you've been looking so long.  Probably a certificate unless you're lucky with a transcript?

You could put a post on the Lancashire board as well?

I hope you manage to find out more.

Best wishes

Thanks Emms
Looks like a possibility, on most  all census her name is spelt differently, other details remain the same , I am sure she is the same person, her death shows Jennet in 1899 Kendal, IGI shows her as Jessy, confusing though isn't it?.

I thank you for your impute, you have put me in the right direction, I am helping a friend out with this one so I will have to ask her if she wants to buy a cert, I hope she  does

regards

Hi

I hope she likes it, but just a thought, I wonder what we can get off Lancashire bmd to save her?

After ages of searching for this I might well have come a step nearer with a possibilty, it might have been wrongly transcribed

Joseph CRESEY marrying Jenet LOW
Ulverston reg dist 1845 June qtr

If it were possible can I ask for a marriage look up at the local records office for this, a huge ask

poss 1841
Jenet Low born Scotland aged 19, fits  living DRIFFIELD, on later census she states she was born in Liverpool

Joseph was born in Aldington  1822, I have not got a clue as to where this couple might have married except they were living in Westmoreland 1848 and the following years.

I hope I have sussed this out after what feels like years of searching
