Hi

The index entry to allow you to order a certificate is:

St Helier Church marriages - December 1932 to July 1939. The entry is on page 13 for Donald Cyril Godfray and on the same page is Florence Maud Diggle.

FMD has an Occupation Registration card which shows she was born 8th October 1912.

There are 3 children registered:

Donald Brian born 18th March 1934
Pauline Lillian born 4th January 1936
Peter John born 17th January 1938

As at 29th January 1941, FMD was living at 2 Hue Cottages, Hue St., St. Helier but on 4th April 1944 had moved to 27 Charles St., St. Helier. DCG was marked as "out of island" - presumably he had enlisted.

The rating list for 1947 to 1951 showed a D C Godfray living at 4 Haimance Cottages, St. Helier.

Hope that helps.

Stewart

No you have to send off for the certificate. However, I can go and look at the certificate but I'm not here for the next 10 days. It would save you £10 if you want to wait?

All the certificates are in a bound volume covering the dates. The Registrar looks up the relevant page number and then transcribes the certificate onto a new one!! We're not exactly sophisticated!!
