parents:
Hugh Jervis married Isabella Mills 26 June 1826 in Parish of Inver.
Hugh died 24 Dec. 1882

PRONI website lists Will for Arthur Jervis d.1893 of Dumaneary- executor James Henry Jervis. See www.proni.gov.uk- look under Will Searches.

HI Paul ,
i was wondering which part of that tree you are from and how old you are ??
There's not many off us out there .The family tree are far as i know will soon be dead .. Robert Jervis my uncle had a son Robert Jr. by the way he was the first Jervis not to use either Arthur or Hugh as the first son name.
Robert Jr. had a son but i not think he had any sons ... i will try and find out they live around Toronto somewhere .. we don't  keep in touch.  My Brother Bill knows where they are.

Linda that i mentioned last night in from Isabella's  branch

Arthur Jervis -  born 22 October  1833 - baptism 29 October 1833 - Drumaneary this is my  branch

Here's a copy of an email i got from Linda  .... if you have any more info could you please pass it on

Arthur Jervis -  born 22 October  1833 - baptism 29 October 1833 - Drumaneary

Isabella Jervis - born 6 July 1843 - baptism 13 July  1843 -Drumaneary  She married a Michael Steer Fisher((My descendant line).

(This is Linda ) Hugh and Isabella are my 3rd great grandparents.  This line followed through their last daughter to the Belfast area of Ireland to where my mother was born and raised.

Hugh Jervis       1799 GGG Grandpa Married June 26  1833 Dies Dec 24th 1882
Isabella  Mills Jervis    GGG Grandma

Hello Shirley,

Irish Civil Registration:  Marriages
Hugh's name comes to us through his daughter's marriage entry for 14 July 1868, upon her marriage to Michael Star Fisher.  Isabella is living in Mountcastle, in County Donegal, at this time.  His occupation is that of a Farmer, and he is listed as not being deceased at this time.  (Marriage entry - daughter Isabella) (Mary McConnon, Historical Researcher) (December, 2000).

Church of Ireland Parish Records:
Hugh's approximate birth year is 1799 - believed to be in Drumaneary, in the Parish of Inver in County Down, Ireland.  He marries on 26 June 1826 to Isabella Mills.  It is not until October of 1833 that a child is found in the indexes for this couple, a son named Arthur, proceeded by three daughters up until 1843. There are two witness listed on his daughters marriage certificate named William and Mary Jervis, they have been to this point believed to be Hugh's son and daughter, but this is yet to be confirmed. His occupation is still that of a Farmer.  When daughter Fanny Jane is born in November of 1836, and Eliza Jane is born in March of 1840, his occupation is listed as a Fisherman in Drumaneary. (Church of Ireland Parish Records for the Parish of Inver copy obtained) (Patricia Moorhead, Historical Researcher Dublin, Ireland) (June, 2001).

With Hugh's birth date in 1799, confirmation of this entry will also be difficult - baptisms for the years 1799-1803 are missing from the Parish of Inver, County Donegal, Ireland. (August, 2001).

Griffith's Valuation of Ireland (1848-1864) for a Hugh Jervis:
Hugh Jervis - County Donegal  Parish of Inver  Location: Drumaneary

Parish of Inver Registers:  Marriages
An entry has been found for the marriage of Hugh and wife Isabella (see Marriage Notes)

Irish Civil Registration:  Deaths
District of Mount Charles in the county of Donegal
No: 66
Date and place: 24 December 1882  Drumaneary County Donegal
Name and surname: Hugh Jervis
Sex: male
Condition:  married
Age: 82 yrs
Occupation: Farmer
Cause of death: disease of Mitral valves  10 months  certified
Informant: Fanny Jervis  granddaughter present at death  Drumaneary
When registered: 29 December 1882

(Death entry obtained - Records Ireland) (July, 2001).

Parish of Inver Registers:  Burials
A burial entry has been found for Hugh in the Parish of Inver - Drumaneary in 1881 - burial on 27 December.  His age was 82 years old at the time.  This entry puts his birth year at 1799. (Burials in the Parish of Inver - Page no. ---) (Patricia Moorhead, Historical Researcher) (June, 2001).

Children of Hugh and Isabella Jervis:
All entries where found in the Parish of Inver:

Arthur Jervis -  born 22 October  1833 - baptism 29 October 1833 - Drumaneary

Fanny Jane Jervis - born 30 November1836 - baptism 4 December 1836 - Drumaneary

Eliza Jane Jervis - born 28 March 1840 - baptism 4 April 1840 - Drumaneary

Isabella Jervis - born 6 July 1843 - baptism 13 July  1843 -Drumaneary  She married a Michael Steer Fisher((My descendant line).

Two names appear on the marriage entry of daughter Isabella as witness's to her marriage - a William Jervis and a Mary Jervis - it is not known if these two names might also be a son and daughter to Hugh and Isabella.  The marriage was in 1826, and no births show up until 1833? (RCB ref. no. 508/01/2 - contains an Index to the BMD, but not actual entries - therefore no parents names on Hugh and Isabella) (Patricia Moorhead - Dublin Researcher) (June, 2001).

There is an Arthur and Sarah Jervis that have at least 7 children with one of the youngest being Hugh Jervis born Drumaneary on 16 January of 1846.  I have never been able to find out if this Arthur is maybe a brother to my Hugh or not.  Arthur seems to have been born about 1805 with  Hugh about 1799.

Please let me know if you are able to make any connections to this group.  Hugh and Isabella are my 3rd great grandparents.  This line followed through their last daughter to the Belfast area of Ireland to where my mother was born and raised.

Good luck with your researching.
Best regards from Linda

Hi everyone,

This is a long shot as the post is very old but I thought I would try as I would like to build our family tree.

Truffles, you posted

"Robert Jervis my uncle had a son Robert Jr. by the way he was the first Jervis not to use either Arthur or Hugh as the first son name.
Robert Jr. had a son but i not think he had any sons ... i will try and find out they live around Toronto somewhere .. we don't  keep in touch."

I have a feeling that your Uncle was my Grand Father and Robert Jr is my Dad.  My Dads full name is Robert Hugh Jervis.  My dad has two sisters, Mary-Jane (Passed) and Charlotte.

My Grandmothers name was Mary.  They lived in Scarborough most of their life and retired to Colbourne, Ontario

My Great grandmother and Great grandfather on my grandfathers side was Alexander and Mary.

We have confirmed that the surname Woodcock is related as well.

If you have anymore information on the family History, it would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, My name is Kevin and I have a brother, "Robert Maxwell Jervis"

Thanks
