hello!

I am researching my husbands family and noticed your post.  I realise that it was some time ago but if you are still interested in this family, I may be able to help.  Patrick Docherty & Mary Gorrian are my husbands gr-gr grandparents, their son Thomas married Mary Simpson who are his gr grandparents.  They also had 10 children, including my paternal grandmother Alice.

I have quite a bit of info that I am willing to share if you are still looking at this family.

Regards

Hi Lesley
Thank you very much for the reply and I apologise for the delay as I was away for a few days.  Patrick Docherty and Mary Gorrian were my mothers Gr Grandparents and daughter Jane married Matthew Taylor, my grandparents so it looks like we are related.
Since I sent my first post I have found some further info , however I would be more than happy to share any info with you, in particular I have come up against a brick wall with Thomas Gorrian and Mary Daly as I am not sure where in Ireland they originate.
I will send you a pm if this ok with you.
Regards
Nabla

Nabla,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Jane Taylor nee Docherty is my husbands gr-grandfathers (thomas docherty) sister.

We are also struggling with Thomas Gorrain & Mary Dailey - two heads are better than 1 though!

Feel free to pm me.

Patrick DOCKERTY/DOHERTY (1857-) & Mary GORRIAN's daughter
      Mary Ann DOHERTY (1888 - 1969).
Mary Ann DOHERTY is my great-grandmother.

Mary DOHERTY married John Joseph CONNOLLY (1878 - 1957)  on 15 Jul 1901 at Kilsyth Roman Catholic Church, Kilsyth, Scotland, and went to New Zealand and had their family there!

Would love to hear more details of our previous generations.

Regards
Deb

Hi All

I'm helping some friends of mine to research Patrick Docherty and Mary Gorrian.

My friend's Grand-mother is their daughter Annie who married Alexander Lang in 1914 and eventually settled in Kirkintilloch.

The information you posted here is really useful and we will get back in touch if we find more out about the Irish connection.

Thanks.

Hi Sarah
Will send you a PM if that's ok as my sister-in-law is also Annie Lang's grand-daughter.
