I've started to use WikiTree for our ancestors.  Would you please have a look?  I have a question as well (& can't find your email).  All the best debrajones538@me.com

Hi,
I am Maryangela Fuhr (nee Clarke).   I am looking for information re my great grandmother Annie Doherty who had a child (Annie Gorrian Doherty) with Philip Gorrian, in Kirkintilloch.   My great grandmother married Alexander Lang.   I have hit a dead end with my search.
Any tips would be appreciated.

thanks.
Mary

Alexander Lang married Annie Doherty in Blythswood in 1914.

Go to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, invest in a few credits, and use six of them to download a copy of the marriage certificate. It will tell you the names of the couple's parents, including their mothers' maiden surnames, and you can work back from those to find their marriages (if they were married in Scotland).
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
