Ruston Parva Parish Registers & 1841-71 Census Jennison *Completed with Thanks*

Hi,

I am trying to find more information concerning John Jennison born c. 1790 Ruston Parva

I have a scan of the 1851 Census for Ruston Parva (which unfortunately has no Index data) the top of the page has a 4 in the center and 326 on the right hand corner, if that is any help.

Schedule No. 16, South Side of Green
John Jennison, Head, 61, Farm Labourer, b. Ruston Parva, Yorks
Fanny, Wife, 57, b. Sledmere, Yorks
William, Son, 16, Farm Servant, b. Ruston Parva, Yorks.

I have Fanny's baptism 7 Mar 1794 from IGI Batch: C105162 Sledmere, Yorks.

They were married 13 Jul 1819 in Sledmere, Yorks.

I know John died 14 Apr 1873 in Ruston Parva (Death Index Q2 1873 Driffield 9d 183 Age 82)
and Fanny died 11 Mar 1876 in Ruston Parva (Death Index Q1 1876 Driffield 9d 210 Age 82)

I am looking for the census entries from 1841, 61 or 71 to see if they had any children other than William and John's date of birth and parents from Parish records if possible

thank you for the census lookups, I guess parish records are my only hope to find  out any more about John.

Hi

Had a look at the PR's today & the only Baptism I could find was William's on 3rd August 1834 - William son of John & Frances Jennison, Rudston Parva, Labourer & also checked the Sledmere ones just in case.

I did find a Burial for a Sarah Jennison, late Saxon, Ruston Parva 22nd May 1840 aged 95 years at Rudston Parva.

I presume you have the details for the Marriage at Sledmere, but it was by Banns & in the presence of Robert King & E Hodgson (difficult to read so may not be correct)

thank you for looking through the PR's I had assumed that john spent his entire life in Ruston Parva, it seems unusual that they had no other children between their marriage in 1819 and William's birth in 1834. Time to look at other nearby parishes I guess.

Thanks for the info. on Sarah too, another avenue to explore.

Jennison

Ruston PArva - Thomas Jennison married Rachael Slater.  I think Thomas was the son of Ann Jennison living in Hutton Cranswick 18th century.  Any info please

I am not sure if you will see this but,
looking on familysearch I see the marriage of a Thomas Jennison and Rachel Slater 13 May 1776 in Rudston rather than Ruston Parva (Rudston looks to be about 5 miles NE of Ruston Parva).

There are 3 possible christening records for Thomas that I can find:
21 Jun 1742 in Beverley (about 23 miles South of Rudston) Father: William Jennison3 Feb 1747 in Foston on the Wolds (about 10 miles South of Rudston) Father: Robert Jennison, Mother: Frances
30 Aug 1749 in Hutton Cranswick (about 14 miles SW of Rudston) Mother: Ann Jennison

One of whom may also be the father of my John (Sarah Jennison late Saxon was also married to a Thomas Jennison but I cannot find a marriage as of yet)
