That's interesting David, I didn't realize the proximity. Unfortunately, there are many BULLs in Eaton Socon as well. I have asked though. Robert and Elizabeth's first child was baptised 31st August 1794, so that would fit in with the 1793 marriage.

Regarding Sarah, all I have on the marriage is the date, place and witnesses. [Yes you've guessed it - both BULLs].  It is odd though that in the 1841 census she was listed as a rounded down 50, and in 1851 an exact 60. Perhaps she herself was unsure of her age.

Just received confirmation for Robert BULL's marriage to Elizabeth TRAWLEY. Robert was a bachelor from St. Neots, and Elizabeth was a spinster from Eaton Socon. So where is his baptism!

She gave her birthplace as Hunts in 1841 and as St Neots, Hunts in 1851, so Boxworth Cambs doesn't look too promising. But the birth of 1789 is a bit closer than the 1799 that's been found to date.

If this were my family I'd rule her out, but it's Ron's call

David

Thank you Barbara, the James, Sarah and 1789 is tempting, but i'm afraid Boxworth rules it out.

Interesting Bob. I'm trying to tie in St. Neots BULLS with Godmanchester BULLs.

I have just obtained a copy of the death certificate for my ggg grandmother Sarah GOODWIN, nee BULL, and she was indeed born about 1791, as her age at death on 31st January 1853 is given as 62 years. Cause of death "Debility certified".  And so it does put into question the Sarah BULL baptised in 1799, as her parents were apparantly married in 1793, with children being baptised from 1794 onwards. But there is no Sarah BULL born/baptised in 1791 in the St. Neots parish registers! Trying isn't it. All I need is a little tie-in with that family of BULLs in St. Neots.

Belatedly for Bob [Stonechat]. With regard to your BULLS in Godmanchester. Do you know anything about the two BULL children [Sarah 11 and William 10] who, on the day of the 1841 census of Godmanchester, were at the house of an Eliza MASON, 65 pauper, and her son James, 25 bricklayer?

As you know, I am trying to tie some BULLs to my GOODWINs, and worthy of note is that one of the sons of John GOODWIN and Sarah BULL, himself a John, later married a Charlotte MASON of Godmanchester in 1853.

Very tentative I know, but we have to explore every avenue don't we.
