Bernard Moriez lookup request
« on: Monday 21 April 08 20:58 BST (UK) »
I'm really struggling to find the following person. Apparently he was born in Nova Scotia in c1890, but i havn't been able to find him. All i know about him is who he married Annie Defries in British Columbia who herself is from London, England, and that his parents are Charles & Mary Moriez (Unknown DOB/place of birth). Can anyone help.

Regards

He states that he is divorced and came to US in 1914.  Do you know if Bernard and Annie divorced?

No they never divorced. They both died in the 1970's in British Columbia. They married in 1911 and their last child was born in 1921.

His full name is filled in on the death as Bernard Joseph Moriez, which is where it sounds as though you may have gotten the details, as most people know where they were born ?

Have you asked someone to look at the actual marriage details in 1911 Northfeild for you? If not please ask in a new reply

I have looked for the surname and I am wondering if it was misspelled by Bernard and so changed for posterity...sometimes people drop vowells or consonants for the convenience of others...so that it a name is constantly miss-spelled, it  becomes the new way of spelling it...?
There is no name even close in any available data online for N.S.

Their son Joseph Nathan was 1 yr. old when he died, 1912, so they should be found on the 1911...! I'll look again...

Erlinson?
Extension! Where the first child was born! Iwas thinking it was some name for a new area that was unnamed or something, but I just looked and it's an actual place...but I can't find it within a district on the 1911 :-\
I'd like to confirm that he is from N.S as well...sometimes it is written instead of N.B.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it is in the same district of Nanaimo above, so they might have been missed on the census...
But I'm not thinking anyway...there's people you can talk to if they are willing...family!
There are only four Moriez in all of Canada..in you guessed it...B.C...
( 3 in nanaimo...We aren't to mention names of the living, but if you write to one or all of them, I'm sure someone will have some information for you on ancestry of the family....
