William Burrows COMPLETED
« on: Monday 05 May 08 20:50 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find the parents of a William Burrows who was born in either St.Pancras or Bloomsbury in approx. 1800 he married a Rachel Malcom 9/10/1818 West Kilbride Ayrshire.
By the 1841 cen. he is back in St.Pancras living at Wellsley St. and at the same address No. 32 in 51 and 61 in 51 his name is down as Fred.
I believe he died in 1864.
I found a William Burrows married a Alice Jackson at Old St.Pancras Church on 2/9/1787 but this is 13 years before my William is born.
If anyone does know who William's parents were or if you can confirm it was William and Alice i would be most grateful to hear from you.

Birth/baptisms source IGI for William Burrows c 1800

Nothing shown specifically for St.Pancras or Bloomsbury but St Mary Marylebone is a good second choice.

Two possible entries, all baptised at St. Mary St Marylebone.

Parents
James & Elizabeth Burrows
Children
William Burrows
born  26th May 1799
bapt. 21st July  1799
Eliza Burrows
born  13th Sept. 1799
bapt  29th July 1800
James
born  16th May 1803
bapt  24th July 1803

The birth date for Eliza looks a little suspect when you look at the birth date for William, the original PR entry needs to be checked, they are all shown as children of James & Elizabeth.

Two possible marriages for James & Elizbth.
James Burrows = Elizabeth Nixey
9th Jan 1791 St Anns  Soho Westminster
James Burrows  =  Elizabeth Smith Kerfoot
31st Nov  1794  St Leonards Shoreditch

Parents
William & Ann Burrows
children
Harriet
born  26th Apr.1800
bapt. 25th May  1800
William
born  11th Jan 1801
bapt  11th Feb 1801
Esther
born  13th Apr. 1805
bapt 12th May  1805

No marriage found for  William & Ann in the London area.

Hope this helps

Hi Buzz, I'm new to Rootschat and have just discovered your post while searching for my family surname, Nixey. I can confirm that Elizabeth Nixey is definitely not the mother of your William Burrows, because she died in London in 1796 and was buried at St Lawrence's, Upton-cum-Chalvey, Bucks (Slough) on 27 January 1796. This is not to say that the same James isn't his father, because he could be, with his 2nd wife, I don't know, I've not traced him, but Elizabeth Nixey definitely is not his mother. Hope this helps in some way.
Kind regards, Jon
