You also have a Richard Grice born 1812 in Leicestershire in your tree, are you just hoping for a match?

Found family in 1860 in Pennsylvania BUT he's shown as 'Henry' and - like in 1870 - he is shown as Blind.

Where did the different birth dates come from, and where did the information about born Manchester come from?

I have his obituary that says he was born in 1812, but in the 1870 census, it says 1824.  It does state that he was 82 when he passed away, so I think 1812 would be it.  He passed away Sept 9, 1891.

What about the information for Manchester?

Annette7 found him in 1860 as Henry - do you think it is the correct family?

Henry Grice
Home in 1860:   Elizabeth, Allegheny, Pennsylvania
Henry Grice   33 (1827)  England   BLIND
Mary Grice   29  Pennnsylvania
Alice Grice   4   Pennsylvania
John Grice   2
Hannah M Grice   2/12

If so, his birth year returns to the 1820's.

His age in the obituary is what that person writing the obituary believed to be his age, as told to them by Richard?
His age on the censuses are what he claimed, so he might have been trying to appear younger, or it could be more accurate.
