Hi Liz & Cando,

Annie Nordstedt isn't buried at Mildura.  She is buried at Burwood Cemetery, Section 6, Church of England, Grave Number 377.

Jane Hughes daughter Mary Ann was born before Jane married Samuel Nordstedt.  We don't know whether he was Mary Ann's father or not, but she did use his surname.  John Klukosky was Mary Ann's partner.  They never married as he had a wife in New Zealand who left him for another man(John was Catholic).  Unknown to John, his first wife had him declared dead after 7 years so she could marry the man she had ran off with - she had had a child with him.   John had moved to Australia by then and couldn't be contacted.

How do I know this?  Mary Ann was my great grandmother.

If there is anything else you want to know, then contact me Liz.

Sharon.

Hello Sharon (shazza181),

That's very interesting!

I remember spending quite some time on this puzzle about 6 months ago so it's great to find that progress is being made.

All the best,

JAP

Hi Anne

You posted some information - but you accidentally sent it to the Moderators, instead of putting it on the boards.  You said:

Hi. Jane Jones parents were James Jones and Jane Hughes II. Her parents were Jane Hughes I and Isaac Hughes. At least this is what I have on my Family Tree.

I hope this helps your conversation.

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Hi all

An old thread that has been dead for a while now....

Anyway, I though I would look for this Samuel Nordstedt here in Sweden.

I found a Samuel Adolph Nordstedt born in Stockholm 28 June 1837. He was in a family in Umeå as an adopted child. The father of this family is C. Gabriel Ruckman (very similar to the mother's name Ruckinen which could be a misinterpretation).
He became a sailor and he is in the sailor database and was written in the "missing persons book" around 1872. Meaning he disappeared from the parish.

This could be him as I noticed on a couple of trees on Ancestry that his birth date varies. I would also like to add that the minister had written that he could have been born 1841.

Dear Ian
I've just come across your posting from March 2015 and I can't thank you enough.  This explains the lack of information I have about Samuel Nordstedt.  I am a cousin of Sharon whose thread appears here, too.
This has helped me enormously moving forward.
Thank you
Diana
