Wright family in Brighton/Portslade
« on: Friday 09 May 08 18:43 BST (UK) »
I’m researching James John WRIGHT (clerk-of-works / builder) and descendants.  James John lived in Franklin Road, Portslade at the time of the 1901 census.  He was born in London in 1840 and some time after the 1891 census moved to Portslade with two of his children (Rosina b1877 and Arthur b1872).

From 1905 to 1911 another son (Joseph John) is listed as a builder at Buckingham Place and Centurion Road, Brighton.  In 1911 he is at Montpelier Street, Centurion Road and Buckingham Place.  I don’t think Joseph stayed long in Brighton though as his children married in West Ham/Poplar.

James John died in 1920 at Monpelier Street and is buried at the City of London C&C.  His daughter, Rosina, was still living in Monpelier Street however in 1936.

I have no knowledge of Rosina and Arthur after 1936.

If anyone has come across these people or can suggest other means of tracing them forward please let me know.
