Hello mallow,
I know you were looking for him earlier - do you have any parent details?
Have you found him in 1891?
There is a Charles E Allsop- parents Edward and Ann b Brewood which is apparently about 6 miles from Cannock but he is in Staffordshire in 1901.

Free BMD has Charles Edward Allsopp born 1883 Cannock and a Charles Allsopp b 1885 Cannock plus a Frederick Charles Allsopp 1883 Cannock. Any thoughts?

Thank you Heywood Yes you are right I have looked for him everywhere for years, His name given at birth was Frederick Charles Allsopp dob 1883 Cannock I  have him up to 1891 the reason I am looking for Charles in 1901 is that after he left home he was always known as Charley or Charles, I just thought he might have but that down instead of his full name.as you can see desperation has set in without a trace in 1901 I have come to a standstill.

You must know of him after he left because of the name - so I assume he is not dead/ emigrated?

There appears to be WW1 Pension record for someone similar living in Nailsea Bristol- you have asked for a search there before so perhaps he wasn't there in 1901 if that is him. Says he is married.
Boer War - my reason all the time for missing 1901 - it is a possibility but he may have just been mistranscribed or missed off!
There is a marriage 1908 Wolverhampton for Frederick Charles.
There are 2 marriages for Frederick C Allsopp -1921 and 1924 - which mucks things up if there are 2! There is a birth 1906-Warwickshire where the later marriage was and an 1863 birth Staffs..mmm... but the war record is for 1883. :)
Well Mallow, I feel I've exhausted all possibilities that come to mind tonight- am off to bed.
best wishes
heywood

Thank you for all your help heywood, you can see how frustrating it is "Nailsea Bristol not him" cannot be sure about  1908 marriage, as got cert and information on it was not helpful. the other two marriages were not possible. married in Ireland in 1920  (fact) have everything except 1901 census which would have given me an address I could have tracked from to when he arrived in Ireland the years between 1901-1920.   (no boer war have looked)

Hi Mallow,
Could he have been in Ireland in 1901? Prison? Hospital?
how frustrating for you   :(
What is he under in 1891 - tried various names but none are him. Is he with parents? What was his occupation? Only asking these to see if anything can be revealed.

Thank you again heywood,  he is under the name frederick charles in 1891, his parents were Annie Catherine and Alfred he is on the 1891 census of salt and enson, but by 1901 his mother had remarried  a Burchill so stepfather now Wiliam .
not in Ireland have checked census. Maybe  had occupation like his father a Butcher.
