Nice to see an original WW1 ID disc!!

I think you may have to wait to see if he appears in the "burnt records" when they appear on Ancestry...

What happened to him???

Do you have any other bits and bobs?? Pics etc??
One more charge and then be dumb,
When the forts of Folly fall,
May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.

Morning scrimnet
These are the only items I have, given to me by my Father.  All I know is that FJC was killed in Palastine and is burried in Heifa Cemetary in Palastine (Isreal), I have the plot number on the CWGC print out.  His recorded death was 30th Oct 1918 - only 11 days to go...............then peace.  Family luck I guess.

Hi Peter

The Ottoman Empire surrendered on the 30th of October, so he died on the last day of war.

Hi Ken
I didnt know that so thanks.  He may have been killed on that day or died as a result of an earlier received wound.  I will find out (I hope) when Ancestry finish uploading the Soldiers Records......always assuming that FJC`s was one that wasnt burnt to badly.

Thanks again,
Peter

Hi scrimnet
sorry been a while finding stuff out FJC Mills died of Malaria.  His Death Cert says he died on the 31st but the Headstone says 30th.
Got a photo of the Headstone from
