Need help finding a Death Record
« on: Monday 19 May 08 19:52 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Odd one this, but I have just discovered my Grandfathers best friend, (childhood), emigrated to Montreal in 1955.
I have found his outbound journey details online, but do not know if he is alive or dead now.
Is there anyway I can search for him online??

New to Canadian records, so could really use some help please.

Many Thanks

Colleen

Hi Colleen

Are you able to give his name??

Sarah :)
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Davies/Griffiths/Smith/Woodward/Goodwin/Morrlle/Moralee - Flintshire

Moralee (and variants) - Durham

Oops, forgot that!

He was called Desmond Cummings, born 19th April 1918, emigrated to Montreal 1955, aboard the Ascania.
At the time, he was Single, and an Electric and Wireman.

Thanks

I searched the Montreal Directories, but could not find him.

Lovell's Directories - Montreal

In order to find his "intended destination", you would have to view the manifest.

You could also try searching Canada 411, but again it's difficult without knowing which province he planned on living in.
