Fullard/Folliard/Fuller/Fullerton and variations, 1800s
« on: Friday 23 May 08 06:01 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Is anyone researching any of these names in County Kildare, Ireland?

FULLARD, FOLLIARD, FULLER, FULLERTON and variations.

I'm particularly interested in the Clane and Naas areas.

Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Regards,
Aillin

Some further details:

In Australia my ancestors went by the name FULLERTON but I may have found their marriage in Clane in 1839 under the name FULLARD. FULLARDs in Clane also seem to go by the name FULLER. They came from Firmount townland.

There were FOLLIARDs in Naas, could they be the same family?  There seem to have been a few other families with this name in Dublin and Meath. A quick search on the Web shows that most FOLLIARDs in Ireland came from Connaught or Ulster. Does anyone have any ideas where this Kildare family may have originated? Could they have been FOLLIOTTs? Is the name FOLLIARD fairly rare in Leinster?
Anyone have any ideas of Books I could possibly check for information about the surname?  ???

Other possible connected surnames: DUNNE, CAIN, CARROLL, DOWD, REILLEY, FITZGERALD, LOSTY

Any help would be most appreciated :)
