Hi Jacques,
I don,t know if these areas are correct as i only have them on the 1851 census
and it do,s not say where they were born only that the cenus was in Ayr so i thought that they all had been born Ayr.

Hello Scully,

There is a death for a Bernard Tierney, 1863, Ayr, Ayr, the only point his age was 76 years, which is a couple of years out. as i have the index for the whole of Ayrshire, census for 1861. there is only one Bernard, of this age in the whole of Ayrshire, and he is in the correct place, ie Ayr, Ayr. I think this is your man.

Janet Tierney McCulloch, seems to pass away 1887, again Ayr, Ayr, her age is 80 Years, which again is a couple of years out.

There is a Janet Tierney, on the 1881. census, living in Wallace Street, Ayr,

Janet Tierney, Head, widow, age 76 years, Born St. Quivox, Ayr.
Agnes Marshall, Lodger, Hawker, Widow, age 62 years, born Wigtown, Scotland.

I am quite sure this is Bernards, wife.

Regards,
Jonn.

Hi John,
I think your right about the family. I know the ages some times differ on Cerificates and Census so i,m not bothered about that. I,m very grateful what you found.

Don't know if you're still researching this family but if you go on the Scotlandspeople site and do a search for Barnet Farney in the 1841 census you'll find what you're looking for.
