"addictive is the word"
« on: Wednesday 04 June 08 19:36 BST (UK) »
Well thanks to those people who warned me, and thanks to all the welcomes!

Is it just me or do you:-

1. Can't  sleep at night because you are thinking "Rootschat" can't wait until tommorrow!
2. Dream about all those ancestors you are finding, or even more worrying about those ones you can't find.
3. Sneaking onto the computer a) after breakfast
                                                  b) inbetween breakfast and lunch
                                                  c) after dinner
                                                  d) anytime before you go to bed
                                                  e) all of the above (that's me)

Is this natural or am I just totally obsessed now!

Welcome Marg

Yes, afraid to say you have fallen victim to the ''bug'' and I'm afraid its totally addictive - my poor family have now given up on me  ;D ;D  The housework, cooking, ironing etc have to go by the board until I've had my Rootschat daily fix  ;D  but its fun  :)

Yep, that's it! AND if you're like me you talk (and swear) at your computer, the rellies you find on various censuses, curse the one's you can't find! Complain to the dog about sites running slow and broken links!

To answer your questions;

1  yes
2  yes
3  yes

Whether or not it's natural I'm not sure, but it's certainly usual for the users of this site.

I can manage to fit in little RC visits in between, for example, putting water in a pan to boil and adding the rice. Or, putting glasses away after washing them because that involves walking past my laptop. In fact, almost all of my housework, such as it is, is punctuated by these mini sessions.
I don't mind missing out on housework but sometimes I sit down fully intending to do some serious research and end up spending the entire time on here. Now that is just silly, don't you think?
