Walklin/Walkling Family - Henley-on-Thames
« on: Thursday 12 June 08 16:11 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace my gt. gt. grandmothers family. She was Frances Walklin/Walkling born 1810 approx., in Henley-on-Thames, she married my gt. gt. grandfather William Wheeler of Richmond, Surrey on 26.8.1834 at Christ Church, Newgate Street, City of London and died in Richmond, Surrey on 22.12.1880.
Despite  research I seem unable to find any trace of the Walklin family in Henley on any of the internet sites, I have been unable so far to go to Oxfordshire county records office.
Does anyone know of the family?

Margaret
Wheeler - Surrey,
Jackson - Wandsworth,
Hanchett - Essex,
Sullivan - Westminster,
Walklin - Henley Oxon,
Bath,
Fright

Hi Margaret ...

Bad news ... no sign of Thomas and Elizabeth's marriage on the Oxfordshire Marriage Index.

Good news ... it's on the IGI (1800 in Southwark)!

Hi "River Girl". You said that Frances Walkling/Wheeler was your great great grandmother. Snap! Maybe we can compare notes.
I suggest you look at the posting "RootsChat.Com\Beginners\How to Use RootsChat\Personal Messages (PM)",  dated 14 September 08, before proceeding.

Hi Spannie, I'm a Wakelin of Canada and Belize. My grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Wakelin, came from Henley and would have been born approx. 1885. I'm trying to put a name to his siblings, his mother and father and further back if possible. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, dwak
