Larry,

Familysearch.org has the baptism in Rathkeale of Lodowick Doupe on 8 Jan 1810 - parents Sarah Lodowick & Charles Doupe.

Cheers

Sorry for jumping around a bit here but it was quite common for a widow to revert to her maiden name and it looks like:
Sarah Lodowick and Charles Doupe had a child (Lodowick) bapt in Rathkeale in 1810 before Charles disappeared/died.   (Are you certain Sarah and Charles married?  The Rathkeale Marriage Register should show this).
On 31 Oct 1812 she is shown as Sarah Lodowick when she married James Moor at Rathkeale.
Finally on 22 May 1817 Sarah Moor married William Scanlan again, at Rathkeale.
With several marriage records, it is quite likely that at least one of these will give the name of the bride's father.

Cheers

Hi again,

To avoid any confusion, it seems that there were two John Trooper Scanlan children born to Wiliam & Sarah.  One born 1821 and died 26 Jan 1826.  Their son born 1827, who was baptised 1 Jan 1828 was then also called John Trooper.  Again, this was quite common.

Cheers

Where and when did Sarah Agness Scanlan marry Thomas Johnston?
Have you got a record of their marriage, it should state if she was a widow or not.
Have you got them in a census? How is Thomas Eldridge recorded.
Are you sure Eldridge is a surname and not a second christen name.

Sarah and Thomas married 14 Nov 1895 in COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, U.S.A. a groom named THOMAS M JOHNSTON, will check to see if she was listed as a widow-Thank you. Thomas Eldridge is recorded in family album and death notice in news paper for Sarah - He is listed as Thomas Eldrige, Eldrige could be a middle name..I am not sure, but when Sarah came on the boat from Ireland so Did Thomas Eldridge.  Sarah and Thomas Johnston met on the boat.
