Hello

My name is Ken Rickard and reside in South Australia.  I have been undertaking some family research and understand that there is a possible link to Cornwall.

My Grandfather Henry Kenneth Rickard was born in Moonta a mining town in South Australia in 1906.  His father was Henry Rickard who was possibly born around 1870 to 1880 in Charters Towers which was a gold mining town in Queensland.  His father was John Rickard and Mother Eliza Minadue, Menadew or Menadue.  I think the links from there go back to England and possibly Cornwall.  Can anyone assist.

Hi,

I've just started researching our Rickard family tree, and came across this thread I'm aware it's quite old and may not be live anymore but I thought it was worth a try.  My Great great great great grandfather is the first John Rickard on list.  I wondered if anyone had any more information about him and the eldest sons of each generation?  My grandfather told me that John Rickard (born 1866) was killed by smugglers and we are trying to find out if this is true.

Many thanks
